5R is testing another breakthrough technology for highly efficient, environmentally-clean processing of Minnesota iron ores. The Magnetic Elutriator™, patented in 1996, is now in the final 100 ton/hr testing phase. 5R has fabricated a multi-million dollar commercial-scale system, and is working toward securing R&D funds to underwrite the installation costs associated with in-plant demonstration testing. Since the outlook for state and federal R&D funding is unfavorable, at least for the near term, 5R is actively seeking private investment from leaders who are interested in furthering environmentally sound technological development; expected installation costs are on the order of $500K.
